Amusingly, Luigifan's stupid 6th level "Words of the Witch" spell is far more powerful than this one, and it only has 1/12th the XP cost and no material component.

At least there aren't any song lyrics or links to TV Tropes in this.

Wow, like was already pointed out, there is just so much that's wrong with this thing in multiple locations that you'd have to overhaul the entire thing to fix it. 1,000 more EXP than wish plus a material component that's used up is fiercely inept at design. Sandbox this. No one will ever use this for a PC and if given to a boss, the players are just going to cry foul, because they have every right to, because this is junk.

Oh a Luigifan spell, and it not too long let read and go over!
  • 2 rounds casting time... Okay I guess the effect could be worth it.
  • Range, Medium that fine.
  • Targets... wait 300 ft apart, that farther than the spell range.
  • Effect... well that is pretty powerful, there a lot of immunities and does grant saving throw as well as spell resistance. Overall I say boring and maybe a bit overpowered/
  • Materi- HOLY SHIT, that like more than a quarter of your total wealth per level at 17. How is 150,000 gp material component even remotely acceptable?
  • XP, because one last fuck you that why.

Do not cast, most expensive spell of all time. All for a boring effect. The article also show a distinct lack of consistency (2 round casting time, target oddities and all that) with previously written material for the game. The quote is also obnoxious and does not need to be there.

The only good thing about this is that it not overly long, but that not enough to push this from an opposed to a dislike.

(Loses everything, forgot to sign in. The following is abridged of what I wrote.)

Looks like Mass Avasculate, ok. I can see ho- holy crap 1d10 Con damage PER TWO LEVELS? You realize that's a minimum of 8d10 when you get it? Average 44 Con? Even on a save that's average 17 Con, post halved hp. This is save vs death, and still die. The only counter is immunity.

I see what you did. With 3 round casting time and material and XP components of "This Spell Will Never Be Cast", it's not really possible to do this. But there is the problem, you've run into the folly of balancing on the extremes. After a certain point balancing a huge power with an equally huge penalty doesn't leave it balanced, just unbalanced overall by being both too strong AND too weak.

No one will actually cast this you know, because the components are too high. It's really a DM spell, but where's the joy in that? I will give you credit for making this short and sweet at least, and being an interesting idea. It's just the numbers are far too borked for any use.

Rampant Confusion[edit]

What's the actual order of the constitution loss and HP reduction? Assume that you cast this on a guy with 200/200 HP and 20 hit dice, and the guy makes his save. You then roll really poorly and deal only 10 CON damage. Is he reduced to 150/100 HP (which makes no sense), 75/100 HP (CON damage before quartering), or 50/100 HP (lose 50 HP, then apply CON damage)? --Foxwarrior (talk) 22:13, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

HP loss is applied before Constitution damage. Additional hit points might then be lost due to reduction of the victim's Constitution modifier. --Luigifan18 (talk) 22:20, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
