I would like, but the +4 madness on creatures with dark insight is a bit too much. I mean, they already have low tolerance to mindbreak, give the poor guys a break.

Danger[edit]

Creatures with dark insight are already really weak to mindbreak, 4 additional points is a lot. Remember the amount for a normal creature is 13 + Wis mod, while a creature with dark insight is 10 + wis mod - dark insight score. Same deal with mindrending blast, is the mind-affecting tag intentional? --Leziad (talk) 10:00, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

Again, I just assumed madness was mind-affecting by default. --Luigifan18 (talk) 21:00, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
That's a fair assumption and it kinda is, kinda. <rant>I made it so mindless creatures weren't affected by it, because while an unintelligent undead can't go insane, an intelligent undead should and often do. The [mind-affecting] tag should really be [mind-altering], because that's what it is.</rant> Anyways, I would drop the +2 bonus to +1, so it would more or less equal your original bonus (just having dark insight reduces your mindbreak tolerance by 3), otherwise it looks good. --Leziad (talk) 23:26, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
The pain point formula is 2 points of inflicted madness = 1 pain point gained. So I wanted to make sure the mindbreaker would get 1 extra pain point from using this on a creature that's easily driven mad — namely, a creature with dark insight. Remember, the mindbreaker loves to cause people to mentally break down, shatter, snap... insert more euphemisms for being driven completely bonkers by sustained mental harassment here. The more mental pain he causes, the better he feels about it and the more power he can draw forth. --Luigifan18 (talk) 23:33, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
