Gan covered this pretty well (and Lezaid too, even if said article no longer exists). But I would also like to point out this has a rising Will DC AND you take Wisdom burn, so you're effectively raising the DC twice (and need to keep track of both).

Not to mention that you could just put the sword away for a few rounds and just ignore all that.

I thought I had rated this ages ago, and apparently not. Even ignoring the flavor text, this is a weirdly designed item. Okay, so a longsword, sure, and an artifact that lets you cast some spells once they're absorbed, okay, but then everything else. Keeping track of what damage boosts apply to make sure those extra damage dice are right. Also, that enhancement bonus just breaks everything instantly anyway. Here's a +17 to attack or whatever. While there's the mitigation of a small amount of Wisdom burn after 5 rounds, most combats are decided by then. So bust this thing out and win or whatever. I hope everyone else gets something to do, because even challenging someone with this puts the rest of the party so far away, though I suppose the DM can give epic artifacts to everyone, but by that point, you're probably using something you've invested feats into. Anyway, its clunky and weirdly doesn't allow for Lawful Neutral characters to benefit without a massive penalty like what the fuzz man? Chaotic Good? That's opposing on one end entirely but no Lawful Neutral? It really needs to be cleaned up and trimmed down. A magic sword that makes you into a pseudo-cleric sorta by sapping enemy magic. The execution needs a rework. Artifacts are tricky to introduce, since they can clearly favor one character over another, especially big ones, unless they're designed to help the party overall or something. Not anything I'd recommend using in its current form. If you needed an artifact longsword, look elsewhere, this should be in a sandbox.

The article itself isn't good, I can see where the the red link would link and I want none of this.
