+10 racial ability bonus — are you for real?!? Balance isn't typically my top concern when I design or rate something — I'm more concerned with fun — but even I can see that this is nuts!

As all the "Denizen of X", it's both unusable and uninteresting. If it was one or the other it could probably be okay, as there's plenty of stuff that falls into one of those camps, but with both it's completely useless.

The denizen races are old and bad, for various reasons all covered here. But this one sticks me for two reasons. It has 8+Int... but 3 class skills.

And it cannot survive on the positive energy plane.

It has no resistance or immunity to Death By Awesome, nevermind the lack of air or food. It can't come from the positive energy plane, it can't even survive there.

Ugh. Short version: This is unplayable and lopsided.
Faster than a speeding heartbeat! It seemed! Seeeeeeeemed! They always glow bright!… except when they don't want to. "Man, I love having these guys around" said no one ever about the guys who're basically a race of glowing paladin dickwads. For a nice bright feeling, no matter what! I bet a guy like that is hard to hide… oh, -1 penalty to Hide. Oh sweet, originating from the plane of positive energy, I bet they totally don't get anything related to that, like healing… and yep, they can "talk the other being down"… So, at least you can make a wizard who's three levels behind a normal wizard. At least he can swing a longsword I guess. Ugh. PLUS DEE FOUR! (110 +16 ≠ 200)

A Clarification/Expansion: Alright, just to be clear here since a few of my ratings for all the denizen races got a bit scattered. Reading through them really did a number on me. This comment is here since I'm not going to put it on all the articles, because whatever this is the last one alphabetically. So, I rated (oppose) on all the denizen races since I don't think that they're up to the quality standards for the site on either a mechanics or flavor standpoint. That said, I actually like races that take an approach to design using HD over LA, its just that everything else about these races is boring and lackluster. They aren't designed cohesively with their flavor and don't back up their main bonus with anything. In many cases, you'll be stuck doing nothing. As NPCs, they'd just feel like a cheat that's difficult to describe given what we know about them in the flavor text. Everything about these races just feels imprecise and unfocused. As an experiment in design, they need to be taken back to the planning stages. That's it. --Ganteka Future (talk) 07:52, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

Unassociated Abilities[edit]

Why does the race with a Charisma penalty get a bonus to Diplomacy, and the race with a bonus to Charisma get an ability that prevents them from talking? --YouLostMe (talk) 17:11, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
