—Squill, Fletchling Wildshaper, Druids of the Garden

Druids have many powers granted by nature. Animal companions, spells, fey resistances... ah, who are we kidding. It's all about the wildshape! Wildshapers are those who are focused on the power to wildshape to the exclusion of all else. Masters of the forms, they always have the right situation for the right time on hand.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the wildshaper.

Magic Fang (Su): All of the wildshaper's natural weapons gain an enhancement bonus to attack and damage as if under the effects of greater magic weapon, starting at +1 and increasing an additional +1 every odd level (maximum +5 at 9th). Alternatively, you can choose to gain a weapon enhancement of equal value, as long as you have the pre-requisite +1 enhancement. You can choose to alter your enhancements every time you level, or if you meditate for 24 hours.

Partial Advancement: The wildshaper gains partial advancement with some of their druid class features. They add their wildshaper level to their druid level for the purposes of caster level and class abilities, including their effective wild shape level. They do not gain any additional new class features, nor do they gain more spells known.

For the purposes of wild shape uses per day and wild shape forms known, they count twice their wildshaper class level to their effective druid level. If this would place them above druid 20, they gain an additional use of wild shape every two levels (so, every wildshaper level). They are still limited to their normal level for the HD limit to their forms.

Subtle Adaptation (Su): Through the use of low level passive shapeshifting abilities, the 2nd level wildshaper falls under the constant effect of endure elements.

Wild Tongue (Ex): When the 2nd level wildshaper is in an alternate form, they gain the language of that form, even if the form is an animal and would otherwise not have a language. This acts as speak with animals of the form they are in.

Quick Shape (Su): At 4th level, the wildshaper can wild shape as a move action. At 8th level, they may wild shape as a swift action.

Greater Subtle Adaptation (Su): Their subtle adaptation improves at 6th level. It now duplicates greater endure elements.

Fuse Wild Shape Pool: A wildshaper may have multiple pools of wild shape at this point, with their animal/plant uses and elemental uses being separate. At 6th level, the wildshaper may now add the uses of wild shape together for the use of either type of wild shape.

Superior Subtle Adaptation (Su): At 10th level, a wildshaper's passive shapeshifting grants them a constant adapt body effect.

Wild Shape (Su): At 10th level, the wildshaper may assume the form of dragons. They do not gain the spellcasting of these dragon forms.

Campaign Information[edit]

Playing a Wildshaper[edit]

Combat: You're an animal baby, and in fact any animal you want. Use this versatility to your advantage.

Advancement: Any druid friendly classes can work, even druid itself.

Resources: Wildshapers have the same support as normal druids, even if they are a bit focused.

Wildshapers in the World[edit]

What an convenient time to be a horse.
—No One Ever

NPC Reactions: As if you're expecting a commoner to know the difference between a druid and a wildshape focused druid.

Wildshaper Lore[edit]

Characters with ranks in Knowledge Nature can research wildshapers to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.

Knowledge Nature
DC Result
10 Wildshapers are druids who have given up their spellcasting focus to instead focus on wild shaping.
15 Wildshapers gain forms faster than druids, and their natural weapons are stronger as well.
20 Powerful wildshapers can even command the forms of dragons, and survive in any environment.
30 Those which reach this level of success can research specific wildshapers, their motives, location, favorite forms, and other details.
