Electromagnetic Cannon
Conjuration (Creation) / Evocation [Electricity]
Level: Sorcerer/Wizard 5

Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Area: A line starting from your square to the maximum range of the spell
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Reflex half (see text)
Spell Resistance: None

When you cast this spell, you conjure a small iron ball which you levitate above your hand with electromagnetic surges. After a few moments, you aim and use surges of evoked lightning to fire it at high speed, beginning at your fingertip. All creatures within the area take 1d6 point of bludgeoning damage per level (maximum of 15d6), which counts as magic for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction, as well as 5d6 electricity damage. All creatures damaged by electromagnetic cannon are made prone. A successful Reflex save reduced the damage by half, and negate the prone effect.

You may aim the electromagnetic cannon directly at a creature within the line as part of casting the spell, making a ranged touch attack against them. If the ranged touch attack succeed, they are not granted a Reflex save to halves the damage of the electromagnetic cannon, simply negating the prone effect on a successful Reflex save.

The electromagnetic cannon sets fire to combustibles and damages objects in its path. It can melt metals with a low melting point, such as lead, gold, copper, silver, or bronze or simply pierce them. If the damage caused to an interposing barrier shatters or breaks through it, the bolt may continue beyond the barrier if the spell’s range permits; otherwise, it stops at the barrier just as any other spell effect does.
