Within the area of the emanation, distances for movement, ranges, and areas of effect are measured as though a diagonal square of movement was only 1 square of movement, not 1 and a half. The area of the emanation itself is effected. (When not using a grid, each distance is measured of the longer of the values on the north-south and , east-west , and up-down axes.)
