About this Flaw[edit]

I wanted to try and capture the idea of mentally breaking down. I have first-hand witnessed someone with Schizophrenia snap into altered mindsets. It is shocking and frightening. They will be perfectly content and going about with their business as usual, and without provocation they can become a rambling mess, an angered ***hole, sometimes even violent. Their movements change as well. They begin twitching as though they had Tourettes, or they will literally become shaky. I know this is not a defined example of all people who suffer from Schizophrenia and I apologize if I have offended anyone who has - or knows anyone who has - Schizophrenia. I merely wanted to capture this image and start a method to introduce it into the game as a Flaw.

Possible idea for Magic[edit]

I was thinking that, like the Skill Checks, you accidentally cast an inappropriate Spell of equal Level. If you are out, or do not have one prepared, you move one Level lower until you get to one. If you are entirely out except for this one last one you are attempting, you automatically fail it. An example I was debating on was if you are a Bard and you are trying to heal your Fighter with Cure Serious Wound, perhaps you can accidentally cast Crushing Despair instead. The Spells that you cast instead of the one you were trying would be chosen by the DM.

Alignment Question[edit]

LG to LE is not a single shift. That is two? A single shift would be NG or LN. Do you mean a single alignment trait inverses?
