It's a flavorful familiar that while better than most animals, is not out of line. I like the divide of only getting Manipulate Object as an Improved Familiar. I could see myself selecting this as a familiar, enjoying the spoopy flavor and functionality, and not feeling guilty for it being too good. (edit: I didn't notice that Manipulate Objects is Su. That's a dealbreaker. Make it SLA. Things that cast spells should be Spell-Like Abilities or else you put it on a different track that can get broken. I'll provisionally leave my rating as-is since I suspect that was an oversight that will be corrected).
