|reason=Dang, 4 years and no rating on this? Well, here goes... The spell is trash. It's a confusing mess of painful XP cost, edge cases and weird confusing circumstances. Do not allow this in your games. Spending 1,000 XP so you can take 20d6 damage is dumb. Shove this into a sandbox and maybe you'll get some fulgerite when lightning strikes it. 2,500 gp worth of copper dust... I don't want to figure out the math on how much that weighs (wait, was just told, it's 2.5 tons). It's a lot of copper. That you have to toss into the air. This wasn't thought out very well.

2.5 tons?!? Are you serious?!? Um... Okay, I may have to tone that down... Also, the self-damage is intentionally there to balance out the spell's power, as getting to hit for 20d4 damage up to four times a round (depending on your BAB) is just ludicrous. --Luigifan18 (talk) 13:18, 7 November 2017 (MST)

It could be shortened to maybe a third of its length, though, if you didn't insist on explaining things and having stuff about beating resistances in there. Making it half electricity and half divine would be much more concise, even if it did mean that creatures with 10 Electricity resistance got to take 10 less damage. --Foxwarrior (talk) 21:24, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

*The resistance penetration is meant to be the same mechanic used by the Electric Mage, if that makes if easier to understand. (Personally, I was afraid that it was overpowered. Statistically, it's weaker than black blade of disasterSpC3, doing only half of the damage on each attack, but black blade of disaster allows Fortitude saves to take only 5d8 damage (instead of 2d8 per caster level) and only gets one attack a round. That's why I made axe of Perun damage the user - to offset its amazing damage potential and force it back down to being about a level 8 spell.) --Luigifan18 (talk) 03:56, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

::Oh I know the Electric Mage quite well. But if you're going to quote the ability several times in the same article, perhaps you should write up a page for it so you can just say something like "this damage is Resistance Beating 20" each time. --Foxwarrior (talk) 17:32, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

That's Quite the Spell[edit]

It could be shortened to maybe a third of its length, though, if you didn't insist on explaining things and having stuff about beating resistances in there. Making it half electricity and half divine would be much more concise, even if it did mean that creatures with 10 Electricity resistance got to take 10 less damage. --Foxwarrior (talk) 21:24, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

 • The resistance penetration is meant to be the same mechanic used by the Electric Mage, if that makes it easier to understand. (Personally, I was afraid that it was overpowered. Statistically, it's weaker than black blade of disasterSpC, doing only half of the damage on each attack, but black blade of disaster allows Fortitude saves to take only 5d8 damage (instead of 2d8 per caster level) and only gets one attack a round. That's why I made axe of Perun damage the user - to offset its amazing damage potential and force it back down to being about a level 8 spell.) --Luigifan18 (talk) 03:56, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
Oh I know the Electric Mage quite well. But if you're going to quote the ability several times in the same article, perhaps you should write up a page for it so you can just say something like "this damage is Resistance Beating 20" each time. --Foxwarrior (talk) 17:32, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

Done! I decided to name the property anti-resistance, though. Well, off to clean up this and Perun bolt! --Luigifan18 (talk) 20:10, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
Looks like that wasn't enough. This is still a huge wall of text, when it really shouldn't have to be. --Foxwarrior (talk) 00:21, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
Hm? Huh. I'm not sure how to condense it further... --Luigifan18 (talk) 02:05, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
