500 years ago a great Zeitgeist Dynasty had grown to such a power, that they could move whole solar systems to fit their needs. They would take over a system, then move the planets of value into the Dynasty’s home system. Allowing for easier and quicker communication across the empire.

Very few know what really happened in the final decades of the Zeitgeist Dynasty. The truth is, they were attempting to create a series of RNA strands, that would force options on races - and remove certain personality traits. Therefore a race could have two ways of living, and thinking or rebelling would not be one of them. This was in addition to the resource destroyer. Creating scarcity can be highly profitable, and makes an exponential amount of willing desperate slaves. As the fates would have it, a very small group of rebels, were able to use this resource destroyer to implode the solar system into a black hole, and destroy the hierarchy. This was a suicide mission, thus little is know of the details of what happened.

The Great Dynasty crumbled with the destruction of their central solar system. Many victim planets of the dynasty were also destroyed. Yet shortly after the Dynasty’s demise, a coalition of rebels created The Fleet, to rescue what was left of their galaxy. The Fleet is a collection of fleet ships (not a single ship), that are spread across the galaxy. 

Fleet society is a diaspora, each fleet ship is technically its own society with a wide range of alignments. However, most Fleet societies are good and collaborate with each other. As such, a Fleet micro-society is not inherently beholden to another. However, most have mutual aid agreements or mutual alliances with other ships.

Unequivocally all parts of the Fleet distrust magic and despise slaver societies.

Each fleet ship can house hundreds of smaller ships, and a few larger ones. This has made Fleet society center around trade, space travel and diplomacy.
