''A rusted old humanoid robot shambles forward, made of simple molded iron shapes and a large round head with a single optic making it look like it has a large eyeball for a head.  Some parts look newer than others.''

An ancient construct whose methods of production have long since been lost, these humanoid iron constructs are simple servitors assigned to various tasks such as construction, repair, maintenance, scouting, and gaurding.  They are capable of communicating through chiming sounds and the appearance of unknown runic glyphs which appear holographically before their eye.  To this day the language remains impossible to translate, but it seems they are capable of communicating amongst themselves to this purpose.  While single minded in their goal, socially this gives them a surprising edge for the purposes of intellect and working together.

Most forms of these servitors are long since old and rusted, but they do maintain themselves with fresh parts smelted within their barrel-like chests.  As long as the head is intact it seems to possess some degree of life.  In theory it may be possble to communicate with them in their hivemind state and give them new orders if the secrets behind their original orders could be discovered.

Robota servus stand about 3 feet tall made of largely hollow iron outer shells pockmarked with dents and age.  They weigh about 45 lbs.

The robota servus are not fighters and non-hostile, but if somehow provoked to fight they are very simple creatures that walk forward and mindlessly attack.  Servus in a hivemind may involve tactics and cunning.

'''Ego:''' Robota servus have a strange sense of self imbued within them even if they lack intellect.  For the purpose of their instinctive behavior and cunning, their [[Charisma]] is a stand in for their [[Intelligence]] score.  They are about as smart as dogs or crows, able to use tools and solve simple problems.  For anything more difficult, the hivemind (see below) must be employed.

'''Heavy Lifter {{Ex}}:''' The robota servus suffers no reduction in movement while under a medium or heavy load, or while wearing medium or heavy armor (but [[Dex]] mod and Armor Check penalties still apply).  In addition it has the carrying capacity of a creature two sizes larger.

'''Hivemind {{Ex}}:''' The robota servus has a strange ability to communicate and sync with others of its kind, forming a hivemind.  If the servus communicates with others of its kind for 1 minute, it can syncronize with up to 12 other servus, forming the hivemind.  While in the hivemind their effective [[Charisma]] and thus [[Intelligence]] is equal to the number of servus in the hivemind -1 up to a maximum of 11.  Thus 3 and more servus are smarter together than any single one.  The hivemind exists as long as they stay within 1000 ft of each other, and fades 1 round after leaving the area.

Though this can grant them sapient intellect, they remain apparently lacking free will or impulse.  Their higher intellect is channeled towards problem solving.  Whatever answers they determine in their higher state of mind persists even after the hivemind is broken, so the servus adds the new information to their otherwise instinctual behavior.

'''Process Material {{Ex}}:''' The robota servus can place materials inside its chest cavity and smelt them to extract valuable iron that it can self repair for.  It must rest at least 8 hours for smelting to complete, and at the end of the smelting it recovers hp and restores any missing limbs as if under ''[[SRD:Regenerate|regenerate]]''.  For every pound of iron it extracts it restores 10 hp.  It can hold up to 2 lbs/HD inside itself for the purpose of recovery.  In theory it can smelt other materials, but would need to be instructed to do so.
