After igniting, the bomb leaves a cloud behind in the same area, this cloud does not obscure sight, and dissipates after 1 round. Because of its short-lived nature, the cloud is not dissipated by wind. Any creature who enters the cloud or take a standard or full-round action within take damage equal to the bomb’s minimum damage (so if the bomb would deal 2d4+4 points of fire damage on a creation, it would deal 6 fire damage in its cloud). A creature may only take damage from the cloud once per round. The cloud of multiple effervescent bombs overlap, and do not do any additional damage, but the damage dealt is of all types dealt by the overlapping clouds if different. Perfumer[edit]

Link to original.

Atomized Extracts (Su): A perfumer’s extracts are stored in atomizers, rather than bottles or vials, allowing him to spray them at himself or an adjacent ally. The target is considered the imbiber, as if she had drunk an extract prepared with the infusion discovery. As the contents of an atomizer are inhaled, the target must be able to breathe. Atomized extracts are considered extracts for purposes of other abilities, and become inert when not in the alchemist’s possession. At 10th level, the perfumer gains the Aromatic Extract as a bonus discovery, even if she does not meet the prerequisites.

This alters extracts and replaces brew potion.

Effervescent Bombs (Su): Rather than using a normal bomb, a perfumer makes an aromatic bomb of effervescent catalyst liquid, which violently ignites after being thrown, leaving a cloud of hazardous vapor behind. The cloud ignites in a 5-foot radius, dealing 1d4 + the perfumer's Intelligence modifier in fire damage to all creature inside the area, a Reflex save (DC = 10 + half the perfumer’s level + the perfumer’s Intelligence modifier) is allowed for half damage. The effervescent bombs’ damage increases by 1d4 at 3rd level and every odd level thereafter. Effervescent bombs otherwise function as bombs, and discoveries that apply to bombs apply to effervescent bombs.

The area of the cloud counts as splash damage whenever doing so would be beneficial.

An effervescent bombs is unable do deal direct hit unless used with the Concentrated Perfume feat or the Perfumed Missile discovery (see below).

If used alongside the inferno bomb, poison bomb, smoke bomb, or stink bomb discovery, the the effervescent bomb works slightly differently. While it ignites in its normal 5-ft. radius, the cloud quickly expands to cover a 10-foot radius area. Creatures in this area are exposed to the discovery effect and the cloud secondary damage. However, after 1 round the cloud will ceases to do damage unless the alchemist has the Extended Effervescence feat. If the Explosive Bomb discovery is used, increase the area of the bomb by 5-ft.

This alters bomb.

Pheromones (Ex): A 1st level perfumer gains the pheromones discovery. At 14th level, the perfumer gains a +2 alchemical bonus to Charisma.

This replaces mutagen and persistent mutagen.

Additional Discoveries[edit]

These additional discoveries were written for the perfumer, or with the perfumer in mind. A GM may allow these discovery to be taken by a perfumer, or even a non-perfumer alchemist.

Developed Scent (Ex): The alchemist dedicated her life dedicated to the crafting of perfume and her sense became keener for it. She gains the scent special ability. She treats any creature wearing perfume, who received one of her atomized extract or was damaged by her effervescent bombs to have a strong scent for the next 24 hours. She may even distinguish the scent of her own atomized extract and effervescent bombs from those of different perfumers.

Perfumed Missile (Ex): As a standard action, the perfumer can infuse a single arrow, crossbow bolt, or one-handed firearm bullet with the power of of her bomb, load the ammunition, and shoot the ranged weapon. She must be proficient with the weapon in order to accomplish this. When the infused ammunition hits its target, it ignites, dealing extra damage and leaving a cloud as if the perfumer has thrown her bomb. The target of the attack is not allowed a Reflex save to halves the damage, and counts as having been struck by a direct hit. If the perfumed missile misses, it does not detonate. This discovery counts as Explosive Missile for all intent and purposes and replaces the discovery for a perfumer. The alchemist must be 4th level or higher to select this discovery.

Powerful Fragrances (Ex): The perfumer has learned to increase the potency of her perfume significantly, increasing her effervescent bomb damage to deals d6s instead of d4's. The alchemist must be 10th level or higher to select this discovery.
