The Spelljammer Campaign Setting is a campaign setting created by TSR and set in the set in the Spelljammer universe. In order to help people identify different sources of Spelljammer related canon, this wiki will define only the original Spelljammer role playing products as part of the Spelljammer Campaign Setting.

Spelljammer related articles in Dragon magazine, Dungeon magazine, other campaign settings (such as the Dragonlance Campaign Setting, the Greyhawk Campaign Setting and the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting and web enhancements from Wizards of the Coast are also canon, but this wiki categorises them separately to allow people to identify sources in the citations in our articles.

Some fans of Spelljammer have opinions that one type of canon is more important than another type of canon. The only reason that this wiki classifies different types of canon in this way is to allow people creating Spelljammer material for the Beyond the Moons website to conform to any types of canon they wish to comply with. For most roleplayers canon is not important. Roleplayers may enjoy fanon material as much as, if not more than canon material, but this wiki exists to record and document canon.
