Elite Barbarian
Elite Class: An elite version of a base class is meant to be used by player characters or powerful NPCs in a game where third party material such as Path of War or Psionic is widely used. These classes are stronger than their base variants, to narrow downs the power gap between player characters. The elite variant attempts not to change any core mechanics of the class. It is intended that player (or powerful NPCs) pick the elite version of a class as their main class, while the base version is reserved for NPCs and for players who are multiclassing.
A variant of the barbarian.
Changes
- Danger Sense: Replace trap sense with a Unchained Rogue's Danger Sense.
- New Class Features: Track, Defensive Instinct, Bonus Feats, Superstition, Imbued Power
New Class Features
Tracks (Ex): An elite barbarian adds half her level (minimum 1) to Survival skill checks made to follow tracks.
Defensive Instinct (Ex): At 2nd level, when unarmored, not using a shield, unencumbered, and conscious, the elite barbarian adds her Wisdom bonus (if any) to her AC and CMD. If she is wearing armor or using a shield, she instead adds half her Wisdom bonus to her AC (minimum 0). In addition, the barbarian gains a +1 bonus to her AC and CMD at 4th level. This bonus increases by 1 for every 4 barbarian levels thereafter (up to a maximum of +5 at 20th level).
These bonuses to AC apply even against touch attacks and when the barbarian is flat-footed. She loses these bonuses when she is immobilized or helpless. These bonuses do not stack with the monk AC bonus class feature.
Bonus Feat (Ex): At 3rd level and each 3 levels thereafter, an elite barbarian gains a combat feat she meets the prerequisites of. Alternatively, instead of a combat feat, she may select a feat with the rage class feature as a prerequisite.
Superstition (Ex): A 4th level barbarian gains a +2 morale bonus on saving throws made to resist spells, supernatural abilities, and spell-like abilities and on touch AC against these effects. These bonuses increases by +1 at 8th level and each 4 levels thereafter. At 9th level, the elite barbarian gains Spell Resistance of 8 + her barbarian level. She may raise or lower her spell resistance as a free action.
This class feature counts as the superstition rage power for the purpose of meeting prerequisites.
Imbued Power (Ex): At 7th level, an elite barbarian chooses a single rage power she has chosen. She benefits from that rage power while not raging. She cannot choose a power which requires other rage powers as prerequisites unless she has chosen those rage powers previously with Imbued power, or powers which are usable once per rage.
She chooses an additional imbued power at 11th level and each 5 levels thereafter.
