	No alternative effects as a variant spell of baleful polymoprh; the spell is made stronger by making its effects more pronounced and by removing the Will save for its target without changing any other details

The effect might be more pronounced, even if I allowed them to retain their hit point, being turned into a small animal is a death sentence since you lose all class features. However unlike the original spell, which is a targeted effect, this is a ray and thus requires an attack roll. The later part is a big reason why it a variant. I do not understands the part about removing the will save, it still there and doing about the same thing. --Leziad (talk) 19:59, 19 September 2020 (UTC)
