Despite once being the central power in the Abyss, those obyrith that are not essential to the plane's operations have practically been hunted to extinction. Those too numerous or powerful to eradicate entirely still remain as well, but in nowhere near the numbers necessary to take back the Abyss from their hated tanar'ri usurpers.
