The Federation of Jeuno

Government

The city of Jeuno has a very complex government system. First, several candidates for the position of monarch are chosen via a vote by the citizens of Jeuno. The three candidates with the highest number of votes are then presented to the federation representatives. There are currently five federation representatives, one for each of the cities that are currently part of the federation. Currently the federation of Jueno consists of Blacksteel, Volmoria, Angrol Kazahd, Shyryduin and Jeuno. How the city of Jeuno itself casts its vote depends on the Jeuno ambassadors. For each city in the federation, the city of Jeuno has an acting ambassador. Currently there are four ambassadors. Jueno casts its vote for the candidate that gets unanimously voted for by the four ambassadors. After Jeuno has cast its vote each of the remaining representatives cast their votes. Representatives for the other cities in the federation cast their votes the way their home cities tell them to. Like the ambassador voted that proceeded the representative vote, the candidate must be unanimously voted into power by the these five votes. Once this voting is finished the candidate becomes the elected monarch for the city of Jeuno. This elected official is then free to run Jeuno how they see fit.

This elected monarch is given the title of Lord. Power can be taken away from the lord by the federation as well however. The ultimate goal of the Lord is to keep Jeuno free of anarchy and safe from invasion. The federation my decide to remove a lord from power if things begin to take unfavorable turns. Jeuno is considered to be the most important location in Athlon by the federation cities. Its location is perfect for trade routes. If this location were to fall or if a lord began to favor exile from the federation, action would be taken. The federation is only interested in trade and safe passage through lake Ashby. When these things become jeopardized the federation will remove a lord from power. When a lord is removed from power the acting representatives from the other cities will take control of Jeuno. The process then begins a new. Lords stay in power until the willingly step down, the federation commends them and asks them to step down, or the federation takes power from them.
