Purifying Totems

So used totems will generate a monster of some kind over the course of a month if not buried. Do they still count as used after this happens? Is there some other way to purify used totems (casting remove curse on it, etc.)? --Undead_Knave (talk) 10:30, 10 May 2019 (MDT)
