Tome Balance and You[edit]

I think you really have a few misconceptions here. Central among them - and ultimately most importantly - is the philosophy core to what is generally referred to as Tome level material. The point of Tome level material is to balance the game so everyone can have an impact. This is similar to several other efforts in the Homebrew community (there are at least four different efforts on this Wiki alone), but Frank and K chose to go with the highest level of play for their aim.

This not only fails to meet this aim, but misses the goal. This is not an attempt to make a Tome level Rogue. You admitted yourself that a full caster is better at doing what this class is than this class. This is an attempt to make a stronger Rogue, which it certainly is. That being said, it's important to recognize the distinction between the two things. Stronger is not the same as Tome.

Finally, while there is no generic Tome Rogue, there are multiple Tome classes in that style two of which, the Assassin,_Tome_(3.5e_Class) and Thief-Acrobat_(3.5e_Class) were even made by Frank and K. The Thief-Acrobat is certainly among the weakest of the core Tome classes, but it is more in line with the Tome philosophy than this. I recognize that sounded needlessly insulting, so I apologize if I seem like I'm trying to rub things in.

I recognize that you probably won't actually read this, given that this class was apparently made a year and a half ago, but I'm writing this anyway. Hopefully it will lead to either a change of the class to become more in line with Tome philosophy or a change in some of the fluff and so it isn't a failed attempt. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them; we'll help however we can. --Undead_Knave (talk) 12:04, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
