The target's spirit manifests as a ghost-like figure, similar to its owner. The soul may move using the target's movement options and speed, its skills, saves and hit points. The soul may not interact with any object, can travel through solid material, can speak, see and interact with other creatures, except physically. The soul may not attack, use class features, spells or items, but it can use innate abilities, such as spell-like abilities derived from race or template. The soul is not on the Ethereal Plane, but counts as ethereal to determine how and which effects and weapons affect it. The soul's AC is 10 + Dex modifier + spellcasting ability's modifier as deviation bonus + any dodge bonus + sacred bonus + other deviation bonus, if higher.

During the spell's duration the body is [[SRD:Unconscious|unconscious]].

The soul must return to the body before the time expires, or the target will die immediately.
