The main ammunition used in primitive firearms. A black powder shot includes a lead or iron ball, black powder, a percussion cap and a primer. The black powder and bullet are sometimes encased in waxen paper, the primer and the percussion cap usually have to be loaded separately. As a result the loading time of black powder firearms tends to be slow.

If a weapon using black powder shot is subjected to [[SRD:Heat Metal|''heat metal'']], the weapon immediately discharge upon reaching the "hot" stage. If the weapon has multiple shots, the weapon will deal damage to itself, potentially breaking in the process.
