''Placing the blank white mask on the corpse of your ally, it briefly bonds with their face and when you remove it the mask bears the visage of your ally.  Now you need only don it, and your ally shall return.''

This spell can revive the dead in a limited fashion.  It is subject to the same restrictions as ''[[SRD:Raise Dead|raise dead]]'', but instead of coming back as a living creature they take the form of a mask.  When a willing creature dons the mask and speaks a command word, they transform entirely into the creature bound to the mask including the ability scores and hit points they would have had if they had been raised by ''raise dead'' or their state they had the last time the mask was donned.  They will continue to persist (and the original host will be missing) until the mask is removed or they reach 0 hp (which destroys the mask).  Either outcome returns the original host as they were when they last put on the mask.  

The mask counts as part of but not the complete body for the purpose of revival attempts.  Only one mask per person can exist at once time.  The mask when unadorned is an object two sizes smaller than the creature with no hardness, and the same hp as the creature bound to the mask.

In this way a creature can be revived and still operate until they can be properly restored to life again.  The mask bound creature and their host have a telepathic link when worn.  If there is conflict, the host can attempt to reassume control and remove the mask once each round with an opposed [[Charisma]] check.
