You create two Beholders<sup>DMG</sup> which appear within 30 ft of you.  They are under your direct mental control.  However, this spell has an unusual material component; you must rip your own eyes out to cast it, causing you to be [[blinded]] for the duration of the spell.  If you have more than two eyes, you only rip two eyes out, and instead of being blinded, you take a &minus;8 penalty to Spot checks.  When a beholder is destroyed, the subsequent eye is restored in your head.  Your eyes are also restored at the end of the duration.
