Sublight engines are one of the two required modules for any vessel (the other being pilot controls), and the basic module is a weak low powered engine that turns [[fuel]] into thrust.  They must be external units by their nature.

As the Basic model of sublight engines, it comes with no inbuilt submodules.  It grants a [[vessel speed]] of 1, to a maximum speed of 2.
