These chests are made in batches of up to 1 chest per caster level at a time.  All the chests in a batch are given a unique magical fingerprint, and lead to the same chest space allowing people to open any of the chests and access the items regardless of distance.  If one chest is open, other chests cannot be opened until the first chest is shut.  The chest cannot hold living creatures, who will be shunted outside the chest taking 1d6 damage upon closing it.  The chests automatically close on their own after 1 minute of being unattended, but an actively monitored chest could lock up the entire array if kept open.

Chests are usually marked with a unique magical pattern akin to ''[[SRD:Arcane Mark|arcane mark]]'', identifying paired chests.
