The target creature takes 1 [[Daunt (3.5e Creature Ability)|daunt]] level.  If they failed the initial [[Will]] save they gain 1 additional daunt level every round after for the duration.  The creature can remove daunt levels with a standard action that provokes attacks of opportunity as they clear their head, or they can fall prone from the stress and take a full round action which provokes to end the duration prematurely.

While affected by the daunt level the faith of its victims is shaken.  They suffer from a 20% spell failure chance on divine spells and divine abilities activating such as a [[SRD:Paladin|paladin's smite evil]].  Spells and abilities which are afflicted are not consumed, as they simply do not activate in the first place.
