== Impact Zone ==

[[Summary::Impact Zone is a special ability that is usually applied to creature who are huge or larger, making their physical attacks area of effect.]] Impact Zone is a special ability that is usually applied to creature who are huge or larger, making their physical attacks area of effect. When a monster with Impact Zone attack it create an impact zone of a specific type depending on the attack (see below). This allow it to effectively make a single attack roll and compare it to the AC of every creature in it impact zone, damaging every creature it hit as normal. 

A monster with impact zone do not apply it when attacking with light weapons or with claw attack, otherwise it must always employ it. If a creature possess special ability such as [[SRD:Improved Grab|Improved Grab]] it apply only against the closest target in the impact zone, exception goes to [[SRD:Bull Rush|Bull Rush]] or [[SRD:Overrun|Overrun]] which apply against everyone within the Impact Zone. Since an Impact Zone is an Area of Effect it is effective against swarms, however it does not grant a [[Reflex]] save.

The type of Impact Zone depend on the attack itself, this will usually be noted on the monster entry. An attack may have both types, it must choose which one it uses as it make the attack. 

''Type A:'' This type of impact zone is used for attack made with a long weapon, such as a [[SRD:Greatclub|greaclub]] or a tail attack. This impact zone act as a line equal to the creature's reach, although it may be shortened by the creature. The line 5 ft. wide for huge and gargantuan creature and 10 ft. wide for colossal and larger creature. The line may either be vertical or horizontal at the creature's choice but it must start and end within it reach. If a creature one size category smaller than the monster with Impact Zone or larger is caught in the line, it end as soon as it hit it square, protecting any creature behind it.

''Type B:'' This type of impact zone is made for compact, pounding attacks, such as a bite slam attack. This impact zone is simply a 5 ft. square for a huge or gargantuan creature and 10 ft. for a colossal creature.

At a DM's option, it is possible to add Impact Zone to any creature of Gargantuan size or larger. Doing so usually increase it CR by 1, the type of Impact Zone depend on the attack at the DM's discretion.
