The result of a curse, those infected by lifeburn become flammable.  A single point of fire damage is enough to cause them to ignite in a dark flame which eats at their living flesh, but does not harm anything else.  The flame will burn forever until its fuel is spent, and the ashes which remain can continue to infect others who would breath it in.

Rarely, insidious creatures can cause lifeburn, often dealing fire damage as part of the attack.  Once a creature ignites with the dark flames, no force can put it out.  It can only be delayed through healing until ''[[SRD:Remove Curse|remove curse]]'' is cast, at which point the flames may be snuffed normally.
