''The creature appeared to be a naked bloated hairless dwarf covered in thousands of scars on its puffy and ungainly body.  Its eyes were swollen nearly shut, its fingers stubby nubs of a hand, and its body weeping with open sores, and yet the thing is grinning with its teeth caked in blood, as if it was enjoying your attacks against it.''

[[Summary::The scar devil, also known as an eschara, are lawful evil outsiders found on Acheron searching for those who can make it give the only feeling it can feel, pain.  And it is happy to return to favor.]]  They are born from the souls of hedonists who revealed in their own pleasures, yet never stopped to consider the feelings of others whom they hurt.  Now they can only feel pain, and take enjoyment out of being cut, returning the favor as if somehow blind to the fact only they enjoy it.  They are a favorite of Chain Devils and vice versa.  Their bodies are almost completely scar tissue and they are nearly blind, but they have a keen sense of hearing which lets them seek out their targets.  They have no fear of death and will gladly charge to their doom.

They make up the simple meatshields and pack mules of the menos, lower planar beasts who have a disruptive effect on magic.  A scar devil is about 4 to 5 feet wall and weigh 220 lbs.  They speak Abyssal, Celestial, and Infernal.
