::I see your point on the OP of the ability as presented. It would be better as sharing the dreamborn unreality benefit 20% + creature HD (no longer multiplied); dependent on the last creature summoned and only while the creature was alive and within medium range. This would eliminate the critter in the basement option, unless the caster stayed home and never summoned a new servant. Add in that the creature could use aid another with a bonus equal to the caster's class level and the AC comes back, but limited to the creature staying close. When it comes to items with daily uses with limited charges (e.g. eternal wands), it's possible to use the charges and then just dismiss the item and repeat. Maybe those should count as consumables for this purpose?  --Radthemad4 (talk) 00:26, 25 March 2023 (UTC)

Dreamer's Shield ability. What would you think about instead having the ability changed to the summoner sharing the dreamborn unreality benefit of the summoned creature while it remains summoned. However the benefit would increase from normal to 20% + (creature HD x class level), limited to a maximum of 80% and based only on the most powerful current summoned creature. When achieving 5th level and gaining the eternal dreamer apotheosis, the character receiving the bonus from summoned creature HD, added to his own constant dreamborn unreality (not stacking the base effect in other words). While it a fine idea, a very large miss chance is a lot better than a few temps hit point and shield bonus. The idea of Dreamer's Shield as an ability is a moderate defense when one of the summoner's minion is close. If I were to make it any distance someone would just persist a summoned creature in their basement. A 80% miss chance is also incredibly powerful, especially since Unreality is bypassed by very few things. Finally Dreamer's Shield is meant to be breakable, either by killing the creature or physically depleting the temporary hit points the shield grant, an increased Unreality deny the later. --Leziad (talk) 10:18, 9 September 2017 (MDT)
I see your point on the OP of the ability as presented. Anyways just some thoughts. Psionic version[edit]

While not directly convertible in a psionic version it could be worthwhile as an idea to explore, wouldn't you say? Anyway really fine Prc, I want to look at it more closely later! --The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 11:12, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

Dreamcraft Exploit?[edit]

When it comes to items with daily uses with limited charges (e.g. eternal wands), it's possible to use the charges and then just dismiss the item and repeat. Maybe those should count as consumables for this purpose? --Radthemad4 (talk) 00:26, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
