Template:Weapon Stats2

A double-edged blade with another blade attached perpendicularly to it connected to a long length of chain or cord, the kyoketsu shoge is believed to be the precursor to the more well-known kusari-gama, and is traditionally used almost exclusively by the ninja. Unlike a kusari-gama, however, a kyoketsu shoge is not a double weapon.

A kyoketsu shoge has reach, so you can strike opponents 10 feet away with it, but you may also attack enemies adjacent to you without penalty. The wielder of a kyoketsu shoge can also alternate between slashing or piercing damage with each attack without penalty. You can make trip attempts with a kyoketsu shoge. If you are tripped during your own trip attempt, you may drop the weapon to avoid being tripped.

When wielding a kyoketsu shoge, you get a +2 bonus on your opposed attack roll when attempting to disarm an opponent (including the roll to avoid being disarmed if you fail to disarm your foe).

The Weapon Finesse feat may be used to apply your Dexterity modifier to attack rolls instead of your Strength modifier.
