Sword of Light
Transmutation [Good]
Level: Blade 7, Sorcerer/Wizard 7
Components: V, S, M
Casting time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Effect: White blade of positive energy
Duration: 1 round/level (D)
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes

You wave the sword in your hand in the air and release it. It transforms into an object of white energy, hovers in the air momentarily, and flies off to infuse creatures with positive energy at your command.

This spell functions like sword of deception[1] and sword of darkness[1], except that you cause a white blade of positive energy to appear and attack opponents (or allies) at a distance, as directed by you. Instead of dealing damage, a sword of light automatically casts cure serious wounds upon the target of its successful attack. Its attacks are resolved as normal attacks, not touch attacks (though a target may still forgo its Dexterity and dodge bonuses to AC if so desired), and if it hits, the target is not allowed a saving throw to reduce the effect. Spell resistance is only checked the first time the sword of light strikes a creature while its spell resistance is up. If the caster level check to overcome spell resistance succeeds, it automatically succeeds every time the sword of light hits that particular creature (the cure serious wounds effect automatically bypasses spell resistance). If not, the sword of light is dispelled. The sword of light threatens a critical hit on a roll of 19-20, and if a critical hit is scored, twice as many hit points are restored (or, in the case of undead, twice as much damage is dealt) by the cure serious wounds effect. A sword of light also removes a single negative level from a creature with a successful attack (two on a critical hit). Anything that would prevent restoration spells from removing a negative level also prevents sword of light from removing negative levels. You cannot be attacked by your own sword of light.

Material Component: A bastard sword or longsword, which is transformed into the sword of light by the spell's energy and is utterly evaporated when the spell expires or is dispelled.
