Fanatical Pokemaniac

For Barbarians (Races of War) who want to also be pokemasters, fighting alongside their best friends.

Class: Barbarian

Level: 1, 3, 5, 7, 11

Replaces: Fast Healing (1), Battle Hardened (3), Speak With Animals (3), Sidestep Hazards (5), Great Blows (7), Call the Horde (11)

Benefit: At first level, you gain a single Pokemon, and the Control Pokemon class feature of the Pokemaster. You can only control a single pokemon, however - gaining a new one involves releasing your current one. You also gain the Train Pokemon ability. Typically, Fanatical Pokemaniacs choose a Normal, Fighting or Ground Type Pokemon.

At third level, you gain the Pokedex and Heal Pokemon class features. Additionally, you gain the same Pokemon Traits as your own Pokemon, but only for the purpose of certain attacks being Not Very Effective - nothing else.

At fifth level, you gain Infectious Anger (Ex): any time you enter a Rage, you may elect to let your Pokemon do so as well. It also gains your Combat Movement and Rage Dice when sharing your rage.

At level seven, you gain Increased Awareness.

At level eleven, you gain a second Pokemon - either Fighting or Normal - with a maximum level 2 lower than your primary one, and you gain the effects of the Melee badge even if you don't happen to have one. You can elect to actually be the Fighting Gym Leader if you want. You can also craft Melee Badges with an hour each.

At level 12, you may elect to raise the level of the secondary to equal that of the primary, instead of gaining a Rage die.

At level 16, you may gain a third Pokemon, with a level equal to the others, instead of gaining the Rage die and also reducing Combat Speed by 10'.
