Variant Path of Blood [Necromantic Creation] Blood is life, lackbrain. Why do you think we eat it? It's what keeps you going, makes you warm, makes you hard, makes you other than dead. 'Course it's her blood. -Buffy the Vampire SlayerPrerequisites: Variant Body Assemblage or other ability to use Animate Dead, You must have drank at least a pint of blood from an intelligent mortal creature. 8 ranks in Craft (Alchemy) or Knowledge (Religion)Benefit: You may create vampire spawn with Animate Dead.

  • Vampire spawn are identical to zombies except they do not have the Single Actions Only or Damage Reduction 5/slashing special qualities and lack the normal ability score modifications of zombies.

They do not have their HD doubled but any class levels they have count as racial hit dice for the purpose of reanimation. For example, a human bard 5 gives you a 5 HD vampire spawn. You do not keep the class levels, but you do retain proficiency of the previous creature, though class or through feats and have 3/4 bab unlike normal undead.

They also have the unholy bloodline flaw.

They have a weakened form of the Draculus template which means the DR from them template is 5 not 5 + half their HD, and they lose Immortality for the following:

*Spawn Immortality (Ex): Unlike a normal undead, a vampire spawn is not destroyed when it is brought below 0 hp. Instead it falls inert, it does not die from mere hit point damage no matter how much is dealt, unless slain by positive energy, a silver weapon, inside a consecrated zone, or while being turned. In order to kill an inert vampire spawn, it must either be staked through the heart with wood, decapitated, a silver weapon or her body completely destroyed (such as being burned and then all remaining bone crushed). A holy weapon ignores this ability.

Vampire spawn are considered mindless undead despite having an Intelligence score.

Lastly, you may use a drop of blood instead of any material components by dealing one damage/10 gp to yourself or to a adjacent willing or helpless creatures. Note that creatures cannot expend more hit point than it have, if the blood magus or creature die (or goes below 0) of the hit point damage before the entire value of the expensive material component is covered, the spell fail. It may instead use 1 point of Con burn (or blood pool if it has it) per 50 gp. Special: The LA granted by the draculus template, adds to their HD for the purpose of undead creation and control.
