Morrdin's Lethal Arrows
Transmutation
Level: Warmage 9
Components: V, S
Casting time: Standard
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Targets: 1d10 masterwork projectiles, all of which must be touching at time of casting
Duration: 10 min/level
Saving Throw: Fortitude


This spell grants 1d10 projectiles of at least masterwork quality the effects of Finger of Death. If any creature makes physical contact with these projectiles after they have been thrown or fired (includes arrows caught or deflected by the "Catch Arrows" or "Deflect Arrows" feats), they must make a Fortitude save or die. If the target succeeds on their save, they instead suffer the normal effect of their contact with the projectile, i.e. those hit normally will receive normal damage while caught or deflected arrows will have no effect. The effect is dispelled immediately on contact with a surface or creature; if the projectile fails to hit or kill its target, it reverts to normal or is destroyed as appropriate for its projectile type.
