Aziz, Light!

I'm considering knocking out the 1/day quickened light ability for a variant of dancing lights, something along the lines of...

  • Light Mote (Su): An ivory elf may create an obedient light at will. However, he may only have one such light at a time. See below.

Obedient Light
Evocation [Light]
Level: Brd 0, Sor/Wiz 0
Components: V, S
Casting time: 1 standard action
Range: Short (25 ft. +5 ft./2 levels)
Effect: a floating ball of light
Duration: 10 minutes (D)
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No

You create a hovering light that sheds illumination like a torch (in a color of your choosing). The obedient light must stay within the short range casting area in relation to you but otherwise can move as you desire (no concentration required): forward or back, up or down, straight or turning corners, or the like. The light can move up to at any speed to stay with you. A light winks out if the distance between you and it exceeds the spell’s range.

Obedient lights can be made permanent with a permanency spell.

...or is that just a waste of time and just complicates matters? Thoughts? --Ganteka Future 01:26, February 24, 2010 (UTC)

Version 2.0

Just updated to version 2.0 of the ivory elf, adding a couple distinct racial abilities as well as a variation of the obedient light as noted above... and also added drow ivories as the "galena". The previous version of this race was okay, and in line with SRD LA+1 races enough, in that it had some decent bonuses but wasn't particularly exciting. If you need to see that version, just check the history of the article. Version 2.0 should be better in line with the cost of being a level lower overall and more fun to use. --Ganteka Future (talk) 01:31, 6 November 2014 (UTC)

Additional Picture?

Hi! I have an Ivory Elf character and I got art of her commissioned, would you mind if I put her up here? Is it possible to have two pictures? Enigma (talk) 14:47, 1 February 2018 (MST)
