Same problems as the defiant equipment, methinks. It doesn't have a range for foes, meaning you can sit in a cage of rats in the morning and effectively have a few hundred opponents each fight. Plus, carrying the cage of rats would be just as effective if there was a limited range. Plus, all the X, Y, and Z stuff feels like a problem for some of the players I know.

That's a lot of math that apparently can change every round. I know I'm not the only one who has raised concerns about the amount of math you're throwing out all over the place. ...You are literally the only person who has complained about the math. And it's better than the spell that inspired it. I mean. Look at the talk page on that one.
