Names
Sentient abjurations tend to have really long and convoluted names, and get referred to by a short nickname like "Graz" or "Blunk".
Racial Traits
- No ability adjustments: Although they cannot move, they still have ability scores for the purpose of taking on harm meant for the warded creature.
- None: Sentient Abjurations have no type. They don't eat, drink, breathe, or sleep.
- Ward (Su): The Sentient Abjuration wards one creature of up to Colossal size at a time, sensing and speaking from its location. Any time the warded creature would be subject to an effect (like a spell or attack, including one with an area of effect) that could target the Sentient Abjuration instead, and the Sentient Abjuration is aware of it, the Sentient Abjuration may choose to redirect that effect to itself. Attackers who are aware of the Sentient Abjuration may choose to target it specifically, except with area of effect abilities which always target only the warded entity with the Sentient Abjuration's option to redirect.
- Alarm (Su): Any time a creature of Tiny size or larger moves to within 20 feet of the warded entity, the Sentient Abjuration feels a mental ping.
- Transfer Essence (Su): The Sentient Abjuration's runes spell out its name, small enough that a creature must be adjacent to read them. If a creature does so, the Sentient Abjuration is transferred to the creature. Either the Sentient Abjuration or the reading creature may attempt a DC 20 Will save to negate.
- Live on in Our Hearts (Su): When the Sentient Abjuration's warded creature dies, or the Sentient Abjuration is destroyed, the Sentient Abjuration ceases to be and all currently written names of it blur to illegibility. However, a creature may then write out its name and read the runes written there, to restore the Sentient Abjuration and cause it to be warding that creature.
