An upgrade to the [[Everchanging Skin (3.5e Equipment)|everchanging skin]] graft which requires [[SRD:Doppelganger|doppelngager's]] skin instead of that of a changeling to achieve a more flexible result. The process still requires a [[Alternative Graft Rules (3.5e Variant Rule)|complex operation]] ([[Heal]] DC 20).

A creature that has the metamorphing skin graft may replicate the effects of the ''[[SRD:Alter Self|alter self]]'' spell on itself only, with caster level equal to its HD and you gain an additional HD to the cap per every 3 HD beyond 5 you have. It otherwise works the same as [[Everchanging Skin (3.5e Equipment)|everchanging skin]], except that activating the ability is a standard action.

A creature with this graft suffers a -4 to Fortitude saves that are triggered by touch (such as for contact poison or touch spells with a Fortitude save).
