[[Summary::Part heavy crossbow, part heavy shield, all dangerous.]]  This heavy steel shield has a crossbow built into it, serving as both a shield on a long haft and a crossbow with a defensive barrier over the barrel.  Though quite heavy and unwieldy to the untrained, when used properly one can fire without fear of counter-attack.    Attacks with the shield crossbow do not provoke for firing ranged attacks in melee.  The shield crossbow's weapon enhancement bonus applies to its shield enhancement bonus.  Though it has the damage of a heavy crossbow, it has the reload speed of a [[SRD:Light Crossbow|light crossbow]].

You can shield bash with the shield crossbow.  If you make a successful shield bash, you can attack your shield crossbow once as a free action.
