Tool Proficiency

3rd level Alchemist feature.
Unofficial Summary: Gain proficiency with Alchemist's Supplies (or another Artisan's Tools). With the Alchemist's Supplies your potion crafting time is Half (see Dungeon Master's Guide (5e24)). 

Alchemist Spells

3rd level Alchemist feature.
Unofficial Summary: You always have the following Alchemist Spells prepared:
Healing Word, Ray of Sickness, Flaming Sphere, Melf's Acid Arrow, Gaseous Form, Mass Healing Word, Death Ward, Vitriolic Sphere, Cloudkill, Raise Dead 

Experimental Elixir

3rd level Alchemist feature.
Unofficial Summary: At the end of a Long Rest, you can make 2 elixirs using Alchemist's Supplies. These vanish when used or at the end of the next Long Rest. See the Experimental Elixir table for which elixirs you create (roll randomly).

  • Drinking an Elixir. A creature can use a Bonus Action to administer the elixir to itself or other nearby creature.
  • Creating Additional Elixirs. You can use a Magic action and a spell slot to produce another elixir (choosing the effect).

At Artificer levels 5, 9, and 15 you can produce an extra elixir each.

Experimental Elixir

1 Healing. Regain Hit Points
2 Swiftness. Boost Speed.
3 Resilience. Boost AC
4 Boldness. Buff attack rolls and Saving Throws
5 Flight. Gain Fly Speed
6 Choice of 1-5.
 

Alchemical Savant

5th level Alchemist feature.
Unofficial Summary: Using Alchemist's Supplies as your Spellcasting Focus allows you to restore Hit Points or do bonus Acid, Fire, Necrotic, or Poison damage. 

Restorative Reagents

9th level Alchemist feature.
Unofficial Summary: Some of your works gain benifts:

  • Fortify. Your elixirs also provide Temporary Hit Points.
  • Restore. A number of times per Long Rest, you can use Alchemist’s Supplies as the Spellcasting Focus to cast Lesser Restoration without using a spell slot. 

Chemical Mastery

15th level Alchemist feature.
Unofficial Summary: You gain the following benefits:

  • Alchemical Eruption. An Artificer spell that causes Acid, Fire, Necrotic, or Poison damage, you can do bonus Force damage.
  • Chemical Resistance. Gain Resistance to Acid and Poison damage.
  • Conjured Cauldron. Once per Long Rest, using your Alchemist’s Supplies as the Spellcasting Focus, you can cast Tashals Bubbling Cauldron without spending a spell slot or needing Material components.

Design Note: Alchemist Updates[edit]

Here are the main updates in this subclass since its appearance in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything:

  • Alchemist Spells has replaced Blight with Vitriolic Sphere.
  • Tool Proficiency now allows the Artificer to craft potions faster.
  • Experimental Elixir now produces more elixirs, the healing of the Healing elixir has increased, and the sixth row of the table now lets you choose an elixir’s effect.
  • Restorative Reagents has been changed to connect the Temporary Hit Points to your level.
  • Chemical Mastery has been redesigned. It now includes extra damage, Resistance, and the ability to cast Tasha's Bubbling Cauldron.
