1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.

The Bloodstar is essentially a dagger, allbeit one for very sadistic people. It has three features which set it apart from regular daggers. The first one is its shape, as its blade consists of three +/- 25cm long (slightly shorter than a foot) daggerlike blades set in a six-pointed starpattern. These blades are hollow and resemble a grater, which is the second difference. The third is the glass bulb at the end of the pommel. This design results in a stabbing knife that goes in easily, leaves very ugly wounds when going out, collecting the target's blood as an added bonus, and, on critical hits, dealing the target one point of Constitution damage. Bulbs can be switched as a full round action, are filled halfway on a normal, successful attack, filled all the way on a successful critical hit, and contain about 6 fl. oz. of liquid. The Constitution damage of the bloodstar occurs regardless of whether there is a fresh bulb in the dagger, or not (the blood will just flow down the victim's clothes instead of being collected).

This dagger is favored by assassins who need to prove they took down their target (*) and blood-drinkers, for the obvious reason.

(*in worlds where this can be determined by the victim's blood, should be some spell for it or something.)
