1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.
A horseman's pick is a hand-and-a-half variety of war pick and has a very long spike on the reverse of the hammer head. Usually, this spike was slightly curved downwards, much like a miner's pickaxe.
Its name derives from the fact that they were most often wielded by mounted knights and heavy mercenary horsemen, but there are also some billmen and archers that use horseman's picks as backup weapons. A horseman's pick imparts less force than a footman's pick, but its smaller size allows wielders to fight with greater speed and agility. Typically, a horseman's pick is 2 feet long.
A horseman's pick is too cumbersome to use in one hand without special training; thus, it is an exotic weapon. A character can use a horseman's pick two-handed as a martial weapon.
