1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.
The Huge Falx is a enormous two-handed of the "Falx family": it typically consists of a 4 feet long wooden shaft with a long curved blade of nearly-equal length attached to the end. The blade is wide and heavy, sharpened only on the inside and was reputed to be devastatingly effective. The Huge Falx is intended to be wielded with great force and is also capable of splitting helmets and shields with a single devastating blow.
The Huge Falx is too large for a Medium-size creature to use with two hands without special training; thus, it is an exotic weapon. (Medium-size creatures cannot use a Huge Falx one-handed at all.) A Large-size creature could use the Huge Falx with one hand, but would be assessed the standard -4 non-proficiency penalty to its attack rolls, or with two hands as a martial weapon. A Large-size creature with the Exotic Weapon Proficiency feat could use the Huge Falx in one hand, but a Medium-size creature must use both hands even with the feat.
Alternatively, this weapon is very useful for hooking, pulling away shields and cutting at vulnerable limbs, or striking the edge of a strong shield: a Huge Falx can be used to make trip attacks. If you are tripped during your own trip attempt, you can drop the sickle to avoid being tripped.
The inward curving blade is still able to pierce the armour or flesh of the target behind the shield, rendering even the most reinforced shields much less effective against this weapon: the Huge Falx wielder gains a +1 bonus on attack rolls against opponents holding a shield (in other words, every opponent has is shield AC reduced by -1 against an attack delivered by mebers of the "Falx family").
