  • History and Background: Back in the early days of shard exploration, the Imperial voidship captain Tylen Argonith embarked on a journey towards the Center, in an attempt to discover the source of the light. Not far from Palantium, he and his crew landed on a strange mountainous shard just on the edge of the light.

While at first the captain believed the shard to be uninhabited, divination spells cast by the crews mages quickly revealed a large population of goblinoids dwelling just beneath the shard's surface. An exploratory mission within a series of caverns uncovered several different species of goblinoids, plus a large amount of worgs who served as mounts for the goblin tribes. What truly intrigued the Imperials however, was the fact that the shard was home to many rare metals, including adamantine

The initial contact with the tribes was treated with curiosity on the more primitive race's part, but the situation quickly changed once a meeting of chiefs decided that the newcomers should all be killed. The battles that came next caused the death of nearly all of the goblin tribes, due in part to a pact forged by Tylen and the goblins' worg mounts.

After returning to Palantium, Tylen was knighted for expanding the Empire and providing a rich new supply of adamantine. Tylen was granted stewardship of the shard, and his family, with the help of his worg allies, has ruled the shard ever since. The current ruler of Argonis Lycar is Imperial knight Lorné Argonith, the last legitimate son of Fhaeru Tyal Argonith. Lorné is a brilliant, brooding young gunslinger who is never seen without Derath, his adamantine-fanged worg bodyguard.
