animating Vermin[edit]

can creatures that have exoskeltons, (bugs, spiders, scorpions, centipedes, etc) be raised as skeletons or zombies? since the stipulation for applying the zombie/skeleton templates is "[Zombie/Skeleton] is an acquired template that can be added to any corporeal creature (other than an undead) that has a skeletal system". technically they have exoskeletal systems, but not actual bones. so what happens if animate dead is cast on a medium monstrous spider?--Azerinth 01:26, July 27, 2010 (UTC)

A giant spider has a skeletal system. It happens to be on the outside, which doesn't matter. It's made of chitin, which also doesn't matter. When you cast animate dead on a spider or similar creature, you apply the skeleton or zombie template as normal. --Quantumboost 01:50, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
alright then, was just wondering, that's great though, i'd be so annoyed by that technicality if it wasn't in my favor.--Azerinth 02:24, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
