Moonlight and Starlight[edit]
"[L]ow-light vision can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight...." Has anyone ever seen the rules for these conditions? After all, starlight is no better than complete darkness, in my opinion. I can't see my hand two inches in front of my face, unless held against the sky. It has been 20 years, or so, since I got interested in DnD. This question has intrigued, and befuddled, me since the beginning. Adginer 162.158.62.232 19:07, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
- You're not the only one! It's been bothering me for forever as well. It is so poorly defined that low-light vision practically doesn't do anything. There are ways you could treat it, like having dim illumination extend from things like torches out twice as far, but that's more about increasing illumination levels, which breaks down quickly since... ugh, I forgot how bad trying to explain it was. It really just comes down to a "consideration" for the DM to make about certain creatures and conditions with this ability rather than any actual rule, from what I've seen. This has been bothering me since the days of 3.0e. --Ganteka Future (talk) 19:23, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
