[[Summary::Purple mist! Purple mist! The Purple One is a mad god obsessed with the color purple. Once a diety deity of magic, his mind has degraded, leaving only benign but insane lunatics in his wake.]] The Purple One's original name was lost to the sands of time. Some say he was mortal who unlocked a terrible lunacy from the Far Realm which drove him mad while ascending him to godhood. Others say he was a god of magic who cast a spell most forbidden. Whatever the case, only the droning call of "Purple miiiiist" escapes his lips these days.
The Purple One appears as a giant purple beholder, with waving yellow eyes and toothy visage. Purple mist belches out of his orb-shaped body with every breath. Unlike most beholders he is not inclined to evil, but he is twice as insane as the already biologically insane eye tyrants can possibly be. Obsessed with the concept of the poisonous purple mist he exhales, he spreads it whereever he can. He inhabits the plane of steam, where he is hidden by the mists, and in a constant struggle to color them purple.
