When a spell is successfully memorized, you may put one instance of it in your list of spells prepared. Doing so overwrites a spell slot of at least one level higher than the memorized spell. If you no longer have spell slots of high enough level remaining, the ''memorize'' fails. You cannot memorize a spell from any of your prohibited schools.
Using ''memorize'' prevents you from using your next [[SRD:Turn|turn]]'s [[SRD:Standard Action|standard action]] for any spellcasting, unless the spell cast is the memorized spell. Any subsequent uses of ''memorize'' overwrites the currently memorized spell, if any.
Instead of casting the memorized spell, you may choose to store it in your mind for the time being, until you can write it on a scroll or in your spellbook. This drains an amount of XP equal to the spell level squared, times 10.
